19-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Fatal Stabbing in Lagos

Lagos, Nigeria(TheGavel) – A 19-year-old woman, Fatimo Agboke, has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man. The incident occurred on Monday, September 9, 2024, at approximately 9:20 PM in the Ijegun area of Lagos.

According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, the suspect was apprehended following a complaint filed by the victim’s father at the Isheri-Osun Division. A heated argument between Agboke and the victim, Faruk Azeez, escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, Agboke allegedly stabbed Azeez in the neck with a broken bottle, inflicting a severe wound. Despite desperate attempts to seek medical attention, Azeez succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Isheri-Osun Division responded to the scene, where they discovered Azeez’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on his neck. The victim’s body has been transferred to Mainland General Hospital, Yaba, for a post-mortem examination.

The Lagos State Police Command is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Azeez’s death. Further details about the incident and the motive behind the stabbing are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.(NAN)
