Ondo CJ, Justice Akeredolu rejects Assembly’s request to investigate Deputy Governor

The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Oluwatoyin Akeredolu on Friday rejected the request of the Speaker of the State, Hon Bamidele Oleyelogun to set up a seven man committee that will investigate misconduct accusations against the Deputy Governor, Mr Agboola Ajayi, for the purpose of impeachment.

Justice Akeredolu in her four page reply to the Speaker declared that members of the Ondo State House of Assembly has yet to fulfill the constitutional provisions required for the Chief Judge to set up a panel. “The matter is therefore subjudice”, she stated.

With this letter, Justice Akeredolu has spoken in clear terms that the state judiciary is not ready to meddle in the political fight between the governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu SAN, and his deputy, Mr Agboola.
