Man in police net over sexual abuse of his 12 year old daughter

A man by the name Yomi Johnson is currently cooling his feet in police net for sexually harassing his 12 year old daughter.

Johnson who is presently with the police Gender Department at the Force Headquarters of the Lagos State Police Command was arrested at his house, No 4, Pipeline Street, Baale Bus Stop, Meiran, Lagos.

The accused person allegedly became a terror to his neighbours who tried to intervene anytime he tried to molest the little girl. “He usually threatened the neighbors with knife and other dangerous weapons. He usually chase the girl around in the dead of the night and neighbors dare not come out to rescue the girl out of fear”, a neighbor said.

Johnson’s arrest was facilitated by the Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation whose President, Princess Oluwabukola Fasuyi witnessed how he chased his daughter around one night and reported the incident at Meiran Police Station.

have comment the prosecution of one Mr. Yomi Johnson who brutally and sexually molested his 12 year old daughter.

Princess Fasuyi said she came about the case some few weeks ago when she visited a friend, Sadiat Adelowo at Meiran, Lagos. It was on  March 4, 2020.

She narrated her story: “l went to a friend’s house to pass the night as I needed to be in Abeokuta early morning for a business trip. While sleeping around 2am, l woke up to the cry of a young teenage girl voice who was running around the neighborhood crying for help. She said her daddy wanted to kill her. l quickly got up and asked my friend if she knew the man that is  running after the girl;

She told me that the man is her father and l should not bother because it was their usual way. She then went ahead and briefed me of how the man have been using all sort of abuse such as starving and beating his children up.  At this point I decided to intervene in the matter as the girls cry grew louder”.

Fasuyi said she ask her friend to open the door, went out and forcefully took the girl from Mr. Johnson’s hand as he was getting ready to inflate another round of beating on the girl. And this did not go down well with the father as they both exchange hot words which led to other members of the community coming out. It was at this point that a women told me how has been sexually abusing this very girl .

“On hearing this, l quickly drove straight to Meiran Police Station where I complained and reported the matter and three policemen went back with me but on getting there Mr. Johnson had absconded from the home and was not seen for more three months until recently when he was arrested. The time was around 4.00am.

The foundation according to Ms Fasuyi was able to look for and united the girl with her mother who left her father’s house over similar incidents of abuse.

She further said that regardless of the financial constrains we will do all we can to rehabilitate the girl and ensure that justice is done.
