The Forum of APC State Chairmen Thursday disowned a splinter group, the ‘Concerned All Progressives Congress APC’, alleging that the group is unknown to the party.

The group it would be recalled had earlier issued a 14 day ultimatum, compelling the APC National caretaker committee to set up a convention committee.

While describing the group’s action as being purportedly misconceived, the 36 States party helmsmen dismissed the group claims as baseless.

In a statement issued in Abuja on behalf of the Forum of APC state chairmen after a meeting at its headquarters, the Kebbi state APC chairman Arc Bala Sani Kangiwa disclosed that the group action was unanimously condemned by all the members.

The forum warned further that any attempt to distract efforts of the APC Caretaker Committee led by Yobe state Governor Mai Mala Buni, would be resisted, saying the group were not members of the ruling party.

According to Kangiwa, the APC has recognizable processes through which members can lodge any legitimate grievance(s).

He noted further that Shadowy Groups, with questionable agenda could not claim any concern for the party.

The statement reads in part: “The Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee (CTC), Governor Mai Mala Buni, on the 14th October, 2020, met with the APC States Chairmen, at the National Headquarters of the party in abuja and briefed us on the progress so far made on its assignment, from inception, to date.

“The entire APC state chairmen are pleased and proud of what the Buni led caretaker committee  has achieved so far,  and we are assuring the Committee of the support of the entire APC Members across the country.

While lauding the party’s recent victory at the  Ondo State governorship election, Kangiwa described the feat as  a reflection of its successes, assuring that the development would make the party to be more united.

On plans for new membership registration, Kangiwa assured that exercise would be carried out in accordance with section 9 (4) of Party’s Constitution.
