Lagos governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Friday evening relax the 24 hour curfew imposed statewide, even as Meiran-Alagbado axis of the state is still boiling.
As at press time, Gavel International reporter, Ibrahim Ikowe reports that area boys and agberos are fighting each other at Alagbado bus stop as people run helter skelter for safety.
Some hoodlums also attempted to burn the Meiran police station but were initially resisted by the people of the area who massed around the station, assisting the policemen on ground.
Other police formations and soldiers of the nearby Nigerian Army Dog Center were later drafted as reinforcement. At this point the people were asked to move away but they still milled around the area of the station.
to The Lagos State Government has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed in the state in the wake of the degeneration of the #EndSARS protest.
The relaxation of the curfew as announced by governor Sanwo-Olu, begins from Saturday.
The curfew will now be from 6pm to 8am, while residents of the state can go about their businesses from 8am to 6pm.
The curfew was imposed on October 20, 2020.
The Chief Press Secretary to Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile, on his Twitter handle said: “Lagos State Governor @jidesanwoolu relaxes the statewide curfew from Saturday to 8am to 6pm in the evening.”
