A Police Inspector, Mrs Adijat Abudu at the weekend approached an Ikeja Customary Court asking for the dissolution of her 24 years marriage to her police husband, Mr Jimoh Abudu, because he impregnated, and has a child from her best friend.

Mrs Abudu currently serving at the Ile-Epo, Oke Odo Police Division got married to her husband in December 12, 1996.

The petitioner had earlier asked the honorable court to put an end to their marriage. ” I cannot share my husband with my best friend. He has rented an apartment for her where she currently lives, so he should go and be living there and let me be on my own”.

Mr Jimoh however pleaded with the court chairman, Mr Toyin Olowoyo to beg his wife to allow his second wife and child to spend the Christmas festive period together at the residence of petitioner. Mrs Abudu refused.

Mr Olowoyo however, in the spirit of reconciliation pleaded with her to forgive her husband. The judge stressed the importance of forgiveness in the Holy Books.”I am a Muslim but I have Christian friends. There is no where in the Bible or Quran that says we should not forgive. Olowoyo cited examples where spouses have forgiven themselves. Mrs Abudu eventually conceded to the judge’s exhortations became so sober and agreed to reconcile with the junior wife, and accepted to have mither and sin in her home during the festivities

Mr  Olowoyo adjourned the case to January 19, 2021

After the adjournment the police couple  were seen in front of the local government  canteen frolicking together.
