3 in court over alleged motorcycle theft

The police on Tuesday arraigned three men, Sunday Amoo, 28; Imole Damilola, 26 and Matthew Ibikunle, 25, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly stealing a motorcycle worth N700,000.
The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, were charged with conspiracy, stealing and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Insp Segun Adegboye, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on July 6 at about 7.15 p.m. at Apata area of Ibadan.
Adegboye said that the defendants conspired to steal the motorcycle belonging to one Julius Adedayo without his consent.
He said that they conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace through such acts.

According to him, the offences contravene Sections 516, 390(9) and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Sofia Babalola, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300,000, with two sureties in like sum.
Babalola adjourned the case till Aug. 5 for hearing.
