Chief S.B Falegan dies at 87

A former Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank, Chief Samuel Bandele Falegan is dead. He was 87 years old.

Chief Falegan who holds the chieftaincy title of Atoye of Ado-Ekiti died on Tuesday morning at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, after a brief illness.

His son, Pastor Oluwole Falegan told thegavel.com.ng that the octogenarian had a domestic accident some months ago and went through surgery to fix his hip bones. From that moment on, Chief Falegan did not recover fully until his death on Tuesday.

A financial guru, the late Chief Falegan served as a Director of Research of the Central Bank of Nigeria before his appointment as the pioneer Managing Director of FMBN.

A community leader, the late Falegan contributed immensely to the development of his hometown, Ado-Ekiti.
