Lagos, Sept. 24, 2024 (TheGavel) – Tony Kolawole, a 41-year-old man, was arraigned on Tuesday before the Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, facing charges related to an alleged N5.4 million fraud.
Kolawole, whose address was not disclosed, is charged with conspiracy, obtaining by false pretenses, and stealing.
Prosecutor ASP Esther Adesulu informed the court that the alleged offenses occurred between June 1 and June 31 at Ojo-Igbede, Ajangbadi, Lagos. She stated that Kolawole conspired with individuals who are currently at large to fraudulently acquire goods worth N5.4 million from the complainant, Mrs. Lilian Ndulue.
The charges against Kolawole contravene Sections 287, 314, and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Upon pleading not guilty to the charges, the Magistrate, Mrs. A. Alade, granted Kolawole bail set at N500,000, requiring him to provide two sureties in a similar amount. The case has been adjourned until October 17 for further mention. (NAN)
