According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, the incidents occurred on Sunday. The first attack involved bandits kidnapping five individuals in Layin Minister Village. Upon receiving the distress call, police responded swiftly. As the bandits fired upon their arrival, the police engaged in a gunfight, ultimately rescuing all the victims unharmed. The assailants fled with various bullet wounds after succumbing to the superior firepower of the police.

Later the same day, another distress call reported a group of armed bandits on twelve motorcycles attacking Marabar Kankara village, taking advantage of the rain. The police swiftly mobilized and engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, successfully foiling the attack. During the aftermath, two bandit bodies were recovered.

The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aliyu Abubakar-Musa, praised the operatives for their bravery and reiterated the command’s commitment to enhancing security in the state. Ongoing efforts are focused on apprehending the fleeing suspects as investigations continue. (NAN)
