Police detain 3 for alleged robbery, stealing N6m from victim’s accounts

Katsina, Aug. 30, 2024 (TheGavel) The Police Command in Katsina State has detained three persons, who allegedly robbed  man of his mobile phones and transfered N6 million into three different bank accounts.
ASP Abubakar Aliyu, the Command’s spokesperson told newsmen on Friday in Katsina that the incident occurred in Baure Local Government Area area of the state.
“On the Aug. 27, 2024, the command succeeded in arresting Abubakar Ibrahim, 35, of Dunawa village, Niger Republic, Abdullahi Nafi’u, 35, Madalla quarters, Abuja and Adam Musa, 36, of Kano State.
“The trio were arrested in connection with a suspected case of armed robbery at Baure local government area of Katsina State.
“The command received a complaint that on Aug. 3, about 1:30 a.m., a three-man gang of suspected armed robbers criminally conspired and attacked residence of Ukashatu Isah, Kofar-Arewa quarters, Baure LGA.
“They robbed him of his two mobile phones – Samsung Galaxy M32 and Itel A12, at gunpoint.
“Also, the suspects, using the stolen mobile phones, criminally transferred a total sum of N6 million from the victim’s bank account into three different bank accounts,” he said.
Aliyu said the upon receipt of the report, police detectives swung into action and successfully traced and arrested the trio in connection with the offence.
He said that the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence during investigation.
The PPRO said that the suspects would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigations.(NAN)
