A Grade I Area Court in Kubwa, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has issued a bench warrant authorising the arrest of a mother and her child.

The defendants are businesswoman, Priscilla Lampang, and her 25-year-old daughter, Elizabeth.

The judge, Muhammad Adamu issued the warrant after an oral application made by the prosecution counsel, Babajide Olanipekun.

Olanipekun had complained that the duo were absent from defending the charge against them.

Adamu also ordered that their sureties be served with notices to show why the bail bond entered should not be forfeited.

The matter was adjourned until February 21 for hearing, NAN reports.

The police charged the defendants with criminal trespass, joint act, inciting disturbance and intimidation. They pleaded “not guilty”.

The complainant, Cynthia Ownwuzulike, a resident of Arab Road in Kubwa, Abuja, reported the matter at Kubwa Police Station.

Lampang had poured water on Cynthia’s doorstep and during a confrontation and the mother threatened to deal with her.
