Breaking! Adekunle Ajasin Varsity students protests over school fees

Management closes school for mid semester break to forestall violence

Reports reaching Gavel International Magazine indicates that students of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko in Ondo State are on rampage at the moment over what they described as obnoxious policy of the school management.
Information reliably gathered says the students are protesting the No School Fee, No Test order by the management and to this end, the school has asked the students to proceed immediately on its Mid Semester break.
The decision according to the source is to forestall any breakdown of law and order within the campus and school community.
The statement by the school Registrar, Dr Sunday Ayeerun reads in part : “the Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State has approved a Mid-Semester break for all students of the University. All students of the university are, therefore, advised to proceed on the Mid-Semester break with immediate effect. Students are to resume to campus on Monday, May 20, 2019”.
It would be recalled that AAUA was engulfed in crisis sometimes last year when the institution’s tuition was jacked up by 100%, from #35,000 to #200,000 but after several students’ protests the state government later reduced school fees.
The students are however calling on the Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to stop the policy of no registration, no examination in the interest of the less privileged students at the university.
