Abuja, Oct. 10, 2024 (TheGavel) — Former President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday sent a delegation of ten ex-ministers to express condolences to Dame Pauline Tallen, the former minister of women affairs, following the death of her son, Richard Tallen.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Richard, the only son of the former deputy governor of Plateau State, passed away at the age of 41 on Sunday in Abuja after a brief illness.
The delegation was led by former Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who conveyed Buhari’s condolence message. The former president described Richard as “a gem and a rising star,” expressing sorrow over his passing.
He encouraged the grieving family to find comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from those who admired Richard.
The delegation included former Ministers Abubakar Aliyu (Power), Mohammed Abdullahi (Environment), Jedy Agba (Power – State), Umana Umana (Niger Delta), and Niyi Adebayo (Industry, Trade and Investment). Other members were Sunday Dare (Youth and Sports), Geoffrey Onyeama (Foreign Affairs), Muazu Jaji (Transportation), and Suleiman Adamu (Water Resources).
Prayers were offered for the repose of Richard’s soul, as noted by Garba Shehu, Buhari’s former Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
