Epe Council Donates Patrol Van and Security Gadgets to Local Vigilance Group
Epe (Lagos State), Aug. 29, 2024 (TheGavel) — Mr. Monsuru Akinloye, Chairman of the Eredo Local Council Development Area in Epe Division, has donated a new patrol van and security gadgets to the ‘MUWON’ local vigilance group.
At the presentation ceremony held at the council secretariat in Eredo on Thursday, Akinloye explained that the donation was aimed at enhancing the vigilance group’s ability to conduct surveillance and intelligence gathering.
He noted that the new vehicle and gadgets would aid local security operatives in addressing security challenges within the area. “This initiative supports the local vigilantes in their efforts to complement the work of the military, police, and other security agencies in our fight against insecurity,” Akinloye said.
The council chairman commended the vigilance group for their significant contributions to community security and emphasized the need to support their operational goals. He also announced that the council had allocated allowances for the vigilance group members and maintenance funds for the patrol van to ensure effective service delivery.
Akinloye advised the group to align their operations with guidance from local security agencies and praised their dedication and contributions to maintaining safety in the area. He urged them to uphold professionalism and act as exemplary representatives of the community.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to bolstering security efforts and supporting all security agencies in the Eredo LCDA to maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.
In response, Mr. Muyiwa Ogunlana, the leader of the vigilance team, expressed gratitude for the chairman’s generosity and assured that the vehicle and equipment would be used effectively. (NAN)
