A Federal High Court in Abuja has sacked Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, over their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The court said their defection is unlawful, null and void, ordering them to immediately vacate their offices.
Delivering judgment on Tuesday, Justice Inyang Ekwo said Umahi and his deputy must stop parading themselves as Governor and deputy as the votes they garnered in the election that put them in office belong to the PDP.

Ekwo also held that the votes cast for PDP in the March 9, 2019 governorship election are not transferrable to the APC that failed in the election.
