The Supreme Court of Nigeria will today (Friday) 21st October, 2022 decide the gubernatorial candidate between the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the state’s former Commissioner of Finance, Chief David Edevbie in the disputed Delta State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 governorship election in Delta State.

The possible outcome of the apex court is already generating apprehension amongst PDP members and party supporters in the State.

Edevbie had challenged the authenticity of academic credentials of Oborevwori.

Oborevwori who won the primary election, approached the Court of Appeal where the judgement of the lower court was upturned in his favour.

Dissatisfied with the verdict, Edevbie filed an appeal at the apex court.

At the last sitting of the Supreme Court, judgment was reserved on the matter for October 21.

A report has it that the development has made party members pitch their tents with either Edevbie camp or Oborevwori camp as their preferred candidate.
