Fairness and Firmness Will Restore Hope to PDP, Says Tom Ikimi

Abuja (TheGavel)– Chief Tom Ikimi, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Disciplinary Committee (NDC), has pledged to restore hope and confidence in the party through fairness, firmness, and decisiveness.

In a statement released in Abuja, Ikimi expressed optimism that the committee’s approach would revitalize the party and meet the expectations of its members and the Nigerian public, who are yearning for effective leadership. He urged all PDP members and leadership to support and cooperate with the committee in carrying out its mandate successfully.

Ikimi assured that all petitions submitted to the committee would be handled impartially and in strict accordance with the PDP constitution, which outlines specific offenses and corresponding sanctions. He also announced that the NDC was ready to commence its sittings and hearings, welcoming petitions and complaints from aggrieved party members through the National Working Committee or any other appropriate channel.

The 26-member disciplinary committee, chaired by Ikimi, includes prominent PDP figures such as former Kano State Governor Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) member Chief Olabode George, and former Acting National Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje. Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, serves as the committee’s secretary.
