Christiana Otukogbe, a 54-year-old woman, has been arrested after she was found to have falsely paraded herself as a policewoman for years.

She was arrested after she obstructed the arrest of one Simon Francis, her grandchild, on Maborukose Street in the Ipaja area of Lagos.

Upon interrogation by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Tokunbo Aboniwonda, she was found to be a fake police officer. Her police uniform was recovered from her residence as an exhibit.

Otukogbe was arraigned before the Ogba Magistrates Court for obstruction of arrest and impersonation.

When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Kokoye Olusegun, asked the court to give a date for a hearing to enable the police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence since she pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Dirisu, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The court ordered her remand in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 23rd March 2022, for mention.
