Fear of coup in Sierra Leone, govt declares nationwide curfew

There is fear of coup in Sierra Leone and the government have imposed a dusk to dawn curfew all through the country.

The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chemor A. Bar in a statement said that some unknown persons attempted to break into the country’s military armoury at  Wilberforce Barracks but were repelled by security forces.

He said: “The public is assured that the government and our state security forces are in control. To enable the security forces to continue the process of apprehending the suspects, a nationwide curfew is declared with immediate effect across the country. We strongly advice citizens to stay indoors”.

The minister advised citizens to follow the ministry’s channels for accurate information and development.
