Badagry, Lagos State, Oct. 16, 2024 (TheGavel) — Four men have been arraigned before the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for their alleged involvement in the theft and receipt of aluminum roofing sheets valued at N2 million. The defendants—Taiwo Hassan, 42; Taye Aduloju, 24; Jabiru Idris, 35; and Sanni Adamu, 25—face a three-count charge, to which they have pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Adeosun, informed the court that the alleged offenses occurred on September 3 at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Check Point Bus Stop along the Badagry Expressway. Adeosun stated that Hassan and Aduloju are accused of stealing the roofing sheets belonging to the complainant, Mr. Okanlawon Bolaji. Additionally, Idris and Adamu are alleged to have knowingly purchased the stolen goods.
“The offences contravene Sections 411, 287, and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015,” Adeosun said.
Chief Magistrate Mr. Patrick Adekomaiya granted bail to each defendant in the amount of N500,000, with two sureties required for each. One of the sureties must be a civil servant at Grade Level 12 or higher in Lagos State.
The case has been adjourned until October 29 for further mention.(NAN)
