FRSC Reports Six Fatalities in Ibadan Road Accident

Ibadan, Oct. 14, 2024 (TheGavel) — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed the tragic death of six individuals in a multiple vehicle accident that occurred on Monday at Oke Eleshin in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to Mayowa Odewo, the FRSC Public Education Officer in the state, the incident involved eleven people and five vehicles, which included two tricycles, two trucks, and a Sienna car. Odewo informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that five others sustained injuries during the crash.

In a text message, he noted, “The five injured persons had been taken to Amuloko City Hospital by good Samaritans, while the corpses were transported to University College Hospital, Ibadan, before the arrival of FRSC personnel.” He emphasized the importance of adhering to road safety rules and regulations, urging drivers to take necessary precautions to avoid preventable accidents.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that among the deceased were several pupils and a mother of one of the children involved. The witness indicated that a trailer appeared to have lost control and subsequently rammed into the other vehicles, causing the devastating crash.
