Abuja, Aug. 29, 2024 (TheGavel) — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully trained 1,646 personnel and graduated 20 junior officers from the Staff College in Udi, Enugu State.
The announcement was made by Mr. Olusegun Ogungbemide, the Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), on Thursday in Abuja.
Ogungbemide revealed that the FRSC had launched a comprehensive capacity-building program aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of its staff.
According to Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, represented by Deputy Corps Marshal Chidi Okwonta, the program’s goal is to equip personnel with the latest skills and best practices in road safety management.
The training, which included both theoretical and practical sessions, workshops, and mentorship by experts, is a pioneering initiative designed to address the evolving demands of road safety and traffic administration.
Mohammed emphasized the FRSC’s commitment to positioning itself as a leading road safety agency capable of tackling complex challenges.
The training program covered a range of areas, including traffic enforcement and management, road safety education, data analysis, leadership development, digital literacy, and technology adoption.
The trained personnel include 341 Unit Commanders, 415 Road Marshal Assistants, 700 Drivers, 90 Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, and 100 junior officers.
The Corps Marshal also announced the inauguration of a Marshal refresher course on August 25 to further enhance FRSC’s service delivery in patrol and rescue operations.
