The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), on Thursday said that Nigeria’s most-wanted hacker, Ramoni Igbalode, otherwise known as Ray hushpuppi has a case to answer with the anti-fraud agency.

Hushpuppi was recently arrested by the International Police (Interpol) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), also has considerable cases of cyber crimes levied against him which are being investigated by the EFCC.

In a press release signed by the Head of Public Affairs of EFCC, Dele Oyewale, the commission stated:

“The Commission is familiar with grisly details of his money laundering transactions, involving many high-profile cyber criminals facing trial in Nigeria;

The Commission is also joining forces with the FBI to trace victims of his fraudulent transactions and other fraudsters having direct involvement with him. Local cyber criminals having money laundering networks with him are also being investigated;

  1. Hushpuppi was arrested on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in The United Arab Emirates in connection with a $35million ventilator scam and it is evident that he may face the full wrath of the law as the case progresses; both home and abroad”.
