Kaduna Police Seize 15 Pieces of Military Camouflage Fabric, Arrest Two Suspected Carjackers

Kaduna: Police intercept 15 unsewn military camouflage material, detain 2 suspected carjarkers

Kaduna, Aug. 27, 2024 (TheGavel) — The Kaduna State Police Command has announced the seizure of 15 pieces of unsewn military camouflage fabric and the arrest of two suspected carjackers.

According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, the interception occurred on August 25 at approximately 1:20 PM. During a routine patrol and stop-and-search operation on the Birnin Gwari-Kaduna Highway, officers discovered a black leather bag containing the camouflage materials.

The suspect revealed that the materials were intended for delivery to an individual in Udawa Village, who would then transport them to bandits in Chukuba, Shiroro LGA, Niger State. The suspect is currently assisting police in locating additional accomplices.

In a separate incident, on Tuesday around noon, a police patrol team in Makarfi encountered a group of armed robbers blocking the road with logs and stones. A shootout ensued, resulting in one robber being neutralized and the recovery of a locally made pistol and a cartridge. The remaining suspects fled into the surrounding bushes, and a search operation is underway.

Additionally, the police responded to a report from Mr. AbdulAziz AbdulMumin regarding a stolen blue-black Toyota. The vehicle was later found in Hayin Dan Mani, Igabi LGA. Police surveillance led to the arrest of two suspects, Abdul Mukhtar and Mamman Ahmad, who were found in possession of the stolen vehicle and another suspected stolen car, a Mercedes Compressor.

The suspects admitted to using a master key to steal cars. Further investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of their activities and identify additional accomplices.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Audu Dabigi, praised the officers for their efforts and assured the public that the command remains committed to eliminating criminal activities in the state.
