Recently friends and family members of Lagos lawyer, human rights activist, and socialite Otunba Remi Adeoye roll out the drums to celebrate his 50th birthday.
The celebration which took place in Lagos attracted the creme de la creme of the society, including insurance guru, and President, Exquisite Club, Lagos, Mr Steve Olufemi Akadiri, Chief Olamide Fadimiluyi, the Adaja of Owo Kingdom, the entire members of Exquisite Club of Nigeria.
Otunba Adeoye was born in Offa, Kwara State on the 8th June 1972 to the family of Late Justus Oyejide Adeoye and Chief (Mrs) Serah Omolara Adeoye.
He attended Wesley Primary Schools at Offa between 1976 and 1982. He also attended Oyun Baptist High School Ijagbo, Kwara State between 1983 and 1987 and Offa Grammer School, Offa between 1988 and 1989.
Otunba Adeoye proceeded to Kwara State Polytechnic for his Advance level Certificate between 1989 and 1990. He also studied at Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State between 1990 and 1992 where he obtained Ordinary Diploma Certificate(OND) in Mass Communication.
Otunba Adeoye was admitted to the University of Ilorin in the year 1993 to study Law and he obtained Bachelor of Law degree from the University in the year 1999. He thereafter obtained a Masters degree in International Law from Tilburg University, Netherlands and thereafter proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he was awarded with Barrister at Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in the year 2003.
Adeoye is married with children. He is presently a Managing Partner with Destiny & Lawlords Solcitors, a law firm of five (5) partners and seventeen (17) associates with offices in Lagos, Ilorin and Chicago.
Otunba Remi Adeoye holds the traditional title of Otunba of Ogbaland, Bamofin of Gbongan and Aare Akeweje of Offa.
Many people that attended University wil remember his student union activities. As an undergraduate, he member; Student Representatives Council, University of Ilorin, 1993 – 1994; Deputy Senate President, Student Union, 1994 – 1995; Chairman; University of Ilorin Student Union Transition Committee. 1995-1996; and Chairman; Joint Action Committee of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) 1997 – 1999.
A consummate Christian, Position Adeoye is the Legal Adviser, Unification Church of Cherubim and Seraphim Nigeria, Chief Legal Adviser; The Holy Church of Cherubim and Seraphim, Unity Flock, Legal Adviser; Salvation Army of Nigeria, and Legal Adviser; Boys Brigade of Nigeria.
Adeoye is a member of Nigerian Bar Assoiciation(NBA), West African Bar Association. (WABA), and Committee for Defense of Human Right(CDHR).
