Man docked over alleged theft of POP cement valued N225,000

A 27-year old man, Charles Ojonde, was on Thursday, arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing Plaster of Paris (POP) cement valued N225,000.
Ojonde, an unemployed man whose address was not given, is being charged with stealing .
The Prosecutor, Cpl. David Adepoju told the court that Ojonde committed the offence at about 9.00p.m on June 31, at Promise Land Area, Elebu, Ibadan.
Adepoju said that the defendant stole 25 bags of POP cement valued N225,000, belonging to the complainant, Akeem Oladipupo.
He said that the complainant reported  the matter at Oke Alaro Police Station, Ibadan.
Adepoju further said that the offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the  Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. O. Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Ogunkanmi said that one of the sureties must be a sibling of the defendant, and thereafter, adjourned the matter until October 22, for hearing.
