My Dearest MAO,
Omo Owa!
Omo Ekun!
Omo Agbogbomoja!
Omo Ogunsakin!
As I sit to pen down this message a few hours to your birthday, all I feel is gratitude.
Gratitude for your life.
Gratitude for your presence, love and care.
Gratitude for your work and accomplishments which continue to inspire me.
Gratitude for the gift that you are to this world.
Gratitude for the amazing man that you are, and for the privilege I have to call you Father. ❤️
I remember many times how you would tell me about your father’s words on how you had transitioned from being just his son, to also being his friend.
I’m glad to know and proudly say this too; that My Daddy is My Friend. And oh, what a blessing it has been to have you as my friend, Daddy.
Looking back at everything we’ve done together, and I just want to say thank you.
Thank you for everything!
Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made, the lessons you’ve taught me (even the ones I didn’t want to hear at the time), thank you for involving me in Gavel’s operations, teaching me the ropes and for placing me on your shoulders so that I can stand tall amongst my peers and see the world from an elevated point of view. Thank you for doing the best you can at every point in time.
Thank you for showing me what it means to work hard, how to treat people with respect and honour, and how to approach tense situations with a sense of calmness and stay level-headed.
Thank you for our many random, yet intentional discussions around life, relationships, work, and just about everything. Thank you for being such a genuine and graceful guiding light for me.
Whenever I think about how you love and take care of me, I’m reminded of God’s deeper love for me. So thank you for modelling God’s love in such an amiable manner.
It’s your Diamond Jubilee and I really do find this to be very fitting because you have experienced many tough seasons and God has helped you come out of them, unscathed. Your life is a miracle and I’m grateful to be a part of it.
I’m so proud to be your daughter. Omo Ogunsakin!
On this day, I hope you get to sit and reminisce on God’s faithfulness to you till this sixth decade, and to count your many many blessings.
I hope that this next decade is your best one yet—full of relaxation, travels and good money! You’ve more than earned these and many more luxuries.
My heart prays for you, Daddy. That everywhere you have sown seeds of kindness, good work and faith, you will yield ample fruits in Jesus name. The works of your hands will continue to prosper! Your lot is preserved! Your mind will remain fertile in Jesus name!
The Lord shall keep you in His perfect peace, prosperity and preserve you. He shall satisfy you with long life to see the fruits of your loins well established on the earth in Jesus name! You will go from strength to strength each year and decade you attain in Jesus name.
Happy Birthday, My Daddy. I love you, always.
