Nigerian midfielder Quadri Liameed has been discharged from hospital after being knocked unconscious during a Spanish league encounter between his club, Sabadell, and Albacete.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, 31 October 2026, when Albacete player Jose Corpas accidentally struck the 24-year-old Nigerian on the head while attempting to volley a loose ball in the air.
Liameed immediately collapsed and lost consciousness, prompting medical personnel to rush to his aid before he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Sabadell subsequently confirmed that the midfielder regained consciousness at the hospital and was placed under observation while undergoing further medical examinations.
Following their 2-1 defeat to Albacete, the Spanish club announced that Liameed had been discharged after the medical tests returned reassuring results.
In a statement, Sabadell said: “The best news has arrived! Quadri Liameed has received medical discharge after all the tests have come out well and will return tonight to Sabadell!
“We want to thank the medical services of Albacete for the help received at all times.”
Liameed has been an important member of Sabadell’s squad this season, having featured in all 12 of the club’s league matches.
The Nigerian midfielder has also registered three assists as Sabadell continue their campaign, sitting nine points behind the league leaders in their bid to secure promotion to La Liga.
