The Nigerian Law Society(NLS) at the weekend reiterated that its mission is to be of service to the legal community, the individual lawyer, and judges in its bid to work towards a viable and prosperous legal profession.
In a congratulatory message to branches and sections of rival association, Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), and signed its president, Mr Kunle Ogunba SAN NLS said it will always participate in NBA programmes.
The statement reads:
The Nigerian Law Society notes with gladness the many programs being undertaken and planned by NBA Branches, Sections, Regional and Religious Groups across the nation
We at NLS participate in these events and congratulate NBA and other groups that have successfully held their programs.
We particularly congratulate NBA Bwari Branch for hosting a webinar to discuss trending human rights issues.
The webinar included a presentation by our NLS National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bayo Akinlade Esq, who spoke about how an Association of Lawyers can make great impact through Pro Bono activities especially in the area of effecting change within the Administration of Criminal Justice System.
NBA Bwari Branch has done well and we hope that other Branches of the NBA will focus on empowering lawyers to serve their respective communities.
We at NLS are poised to be of service to the legal community, to the individual legal practitioner and judge as we work towards a viable and robust prosperous legal profession
Signed,
Kunle Ogunba SAN
President, NLS
