According to information gathered during the investigation, the plants reportedly take at least three months to mature before they can be harvested and sold.
A man linked to the property told investigators that he had permitted a foreign national to use the room after offering to help him return to his home country.
He claimed the foreigner, who was allegedly facing difficulties in Nigeria, introduced the idea of cultivating cannabis. The man reportedly maintained that he had no intention of making money from the operation and only agreed to provide assistance.
He further claimed that the alleged scheme came to light after the foreign national attempted to sell the cultivated plants.
Reacting to the discovery, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police described the operation as another achievement in the command’s efforts to combat drug abuse and trafficking.
The police also called on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities within their communities to the relevant authorities.
