Sen. Adeniyi Adegbonmire (APC- Ondo Central) has appealed to Nigerians to remain calm and trust the Federal Government’s ability to address the current economic challenges facing the nation.
Some groups are planning a nationwide protest from Aug.1 to Aug.10 over the current economic hardship in the country.
Adegbonmire, in a statement on Monday in Akure, acknowledged the frustrations of Nigerians but emphasised the need for peaceful dialogue and collaboration to find solutions.
“We understand that the current economic situation is challenging, but we must work together to find solutions.
“I urge all Nigerians to remain calm and have faith in the government’s capacity to resolve the issues fuelling the protests,” Adegbonmire said.
The lawmaker assured Nigerians that the government was working tirelessly to address the economic challenges in the country, with measures being put in place to mitigate the effects of inflation on ordinary citizens.
“I am confident that with trust and cooperation, we can overcome these challenges and build a brighter future for our nation.
“I appeal to all Nigerians, especially my people in the Central Senatorial District of Ondo State, to give the government the opportunity to implement its plans and policies aimed at revamping the economy,” Adegbonmire added.
The senator promised to engage with stakeholders, including civil society organisations, trade unions, and community leaders, to discuss ways to address the economic challenges and find sustainable solutions.
“We must work together to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
“I am committed to doing my part, and I urge all Nigerians to join hands with the government to achieve this goal,” he said. (NAN)
