Teenager docked for allegedly stealing church cable wire worth N100, 000

Mr Musa Afeez, 18, was on Friday docked in an Ona-Ara Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing church cable wire worth N100,000.

Afeez, whose address is not known, was charged with church breaking and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on June 29, at about 7: 00 a.m., at Methodist Church, Gangansi, Oritamerin, Ibadan.

Folaranmi said that the defendant on the said date, time broke into the church and made away with the wire without their consent.

He said the offences contravened Sections 415 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mr Ayorinde Ayo-Alagbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until Aug. 13, for hearing.
