Ibadan, Oct. 9, 2024 (TheGavel) – Three suspects, Sina Olasunkanmi, 50, Shola Kehinde, 34, and Babatunde Adebowale, 25, were arraigned on Wednesday at the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan in connection with an alleged theft valued at N3 million.
The trio faced charges of conspiracy, theft, and receiving stolen property but pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
The Prosecutor, ASP Anthony Igori, informed the court that the defendants committed the alleged offenses in August in the Jericho area of Ibadan. According to Igori, Olasunkanmi is accused of stealing various construction equipment belonging to Kayode Shobanjo, including two blocks of a molding machine, one block of a vibrator machine, 500 pieces of pallets, and a dumpy molding machine, all valued at N3 million.
Igori further stated that Kehinde and Adebowale knowingly received the stolen items from Olasunkanmi.
The charges against the defendants contravene Sections 517 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
Magistrate Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun granted bail to each defendant in the sum of N400,000, requiring two reliable sureties each in like amount. The case has been adjourned until December 5 for further hearing.(NAN)
