Abeokuta, Ogun State (TheGavel) – A devastating accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway at Verony, Ogere, claiming the lives of six people. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun confirmed the incident.
According to Mrs. Florence Okpe, FRSC spokesperson, the accident involved a Toyota Sienna and a truck, which occurred at 7:40 a.m. The Sienna, marked EPE 692 EL, rammed into the moving truck from behind, resulting in the tragic loss of life.
Two men and four women died in the accident, while three women sustained injuries. The injured victims were rushed to Patmag Hospital, Ogere, and the deceased were taken to FOS Morgue, Ipara.
FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, described the crash as avoidable and urged motorists to exercise caution and obey traffic rules. He emphasized the importance of giving maximum concentration to driving. (NAN)
