Trial of Jumoke Akinjide begins at Federal High Court, Lagos

The trial of former Minister  of Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Jumoke Akinjide takes off this morning at the Federal High Court Lagos.

Gavel International reported last week that the trial of the former minister for N650 million fraud. She was alleged to have collected the funds from former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison – Madueke.

Others that featured as defendants include Senator Ayo Adeseun and Chief Edward Otiti.

The criminal trial was transferred from Ibadan to the Lagos division of Federal High Court Ikoyi, Lagos at the instance of Mrs Akinjide.

As at 9am this Tuesday morning, all the parties are present before Justice M. S Hassan as at the time of writing this short update

EFCC counsel Rotimi Oyedepo, Akinjide’S counsel, Cheif Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, Jumoke Akinjide (Accused person) and all necessary parties are before the Court waiting for the trial to begin.
