Two Suspects Arraigned for Alleged Theft of Nord Batteries in Ibadan

Ibadan, Nigeria(TheGavel) – Two individuals, Lekan Olorunosebi (29) and Abiodun Azeez (41), were brought before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, to face charges of conspiracy and theft. They are accused of stealing nord mask batteries valued at N160,000.

The prosecution, led by Inspector Oladejo Balogun, alleged that the suspects conspired to steal the batteries from Oluwaseun Kayode on September 7, 2024, at the Moniya area of Ibadan. The batteries were reportedly taken without the owner’s consent. The alleged offenses violate Sections 517 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Both suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges. The court, presided over by Magistrate Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned until October 21, 2024, for further hearing.(NAN)
