In a statement released today, the university’s spokesperson, Dr. Sam Kpenu, clarified that the incident was merely a student altercation that has been grossly misrepresented.
The statement comes in response to a viral video circulating online that falsely claimed the lives of several students were lost in a cult-related conflict. Dr. Kpenu emphasized that “no student was killed or injured” during the altercation, dispelling the rumors of a violent clash.
The university’s security forces and local police swiftly intervened to contain the situation, apprehending the students involved. These individuals are currently in police custody, undergoing thorough interrogation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
