The Federal Ministry of Finance has refuted reports that a fire incident occurred at its Abuja headquarters on Wednesday morning.
Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, Special Adviser, Media and Communication to the Minister of Finance, said contrary to reports, it was a battery pack outside the building that exploded around 6 am.
He added that the situation was immediately handled by security operatives at the office complex.
“The situation was not a fire incident as being reported. Rather there was an incident on the corridor on the basement involving an isolated battery Pack and it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty,” Abdullahi said.
