Mother faces prosecution over bloody assault on 12 year old son

The Directorate of Citizens’ Rights an arm of Lagos State Ministry of Justice on Sunday rescued a 12 year old boy whose parents assaulted and blodied.

According to a statement released by the Directorate’s Senior Public Affairs Officer,  Gbemisola Egbeyemi, the boy was rescued in Agege area of Lagos State.

She said: “The boy, whose picture was seen on Facebook, was covered with blood all over his body. He was rescued at No. 64 Moricass Road Agege;

According to the Director, Mrs. Biola Oseni, officials of the ministry during a visit to the home gathered that he was assaulted by his mother who beat him up.

“The rescue team did not meet the mother but was later sighted at a different location and was apprehended by government officials who took her to police custody for questioning” . She added

The Director informed that the matter was presented at the police station, the woman’s husband was mandated to produce the boy while the woman was at the police station.

The woman will be charged to court on Tuesday, 3 March 2020 while the boy would be taken to the Ministry of Youth and Social Development for necessary action and be placed in one of government’s facility.
