The Deputy Campaign Spokesperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Sam Omale, has dismissed concerns about the health of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that he is in good health but experiencing physical exhaustion.
Omale made this known during an interview, explaining that Obi’s demanding schedule and frequent movements between locations had taken a toll on his energy.
He said the former Anambra State governor was deeply committed to his political activities and often handled multiple engagements simultaneously, leaving him with little time to rest.
“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” Omale said.
He, however, maintained that Obi was not suffering from any medical condition, adding that members of his team were making efforts to persuade him to slow down and get adequate rest.
“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep. He is fine,” he added.
Omale further assured that the presidential candidate’s exhaustion would not affect the NDC’s ongoing campaign activities.
