ASUU begins nationwide strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a one-month nationwide warning strike.

This was announced by Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, the union’s president, on Monday in a press conference.

He said the action became necessary due to the Federal Government’s failure to adhere to agreements entered into with the union.

The ASUU President vowed that the union would embark on an indefinite strike if their demands are not met within one month.
Recall that ASUU had last week, sensitised and mobilised lecturers and students across all universities on the reason the union is deciding to down tools.
