Encomium poured in in remembrance of late Madam Elsie Ajayi Ikoli on Thursday as Church, family members, and friends remembered her life and times.

The occasion was at the Wake organized by the Church and family at the Citadel, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island.

Madam Ikoli died on September 2, 2025 at the age of 93. She was a member of the Salvation Army Church for over 60 years and she worshipped at the Odunlami, Lagos Island branch of the Church where her burial service will be held today Friday, November 28.

The church leaders remembered her as a very clean and neat woman who for several years was in charge of cleaning the sacred areas of the Church. “Even if you get to Mama’s house, you will see how clean her environment is”, the leader said.

The church also bears witness to her timely and prompt nature. “Mama Ikoli as we fondly called her was never late to any church program. Despite the fact that she lived in the Bode Thomas area of Surulere, Lagos, she’s always the first to get to Church at Odunlami Street”.

Both family and Church leaders also bear witness to the fact that she was a prayer warrior, who always asks pastors to pray for her children.

For her loyalty and steadfastness, her funeral service will be conducted by the Head of Salvation Army Church in Nigeria, Colonel Friday Ayanam today at the Odunlami Street branch of the church.
