Helicopter crashes at Ikeja, Lagos

An unidentified helicopter crashed on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 afternoon into a building and erupted into flames in the Oba Akran neighbourhood of Ikeja, Lagos State.

The event occurred near the AP Filling Station and the United Bank For Africa in Oba Akran. According to eyewitnesses, the event occurred at 3.30 pm.

There are reports that the two occupiers of the helicopter were rescued before the explosion. There are therefore no casualties.

Fire officers from the Lagos Fire and Rescue Service are on standby to help with any future emergency operations. According to the National Emergency Management Agency Lagos Office, two people have been rescued so far from the crash site.
