ILO reiterates support for Nigerians on social protection

The International Labour Organization(ILO), Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to the achievement of social protection for the citizens of Nigeria

It demonstrated this is on March 16, at a webinar it organized to enlighten the general public on its social protection policy.

The webinar themed “Social Protection, Understanding the concepts and its implications” had in attendance, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Olusola Idowu. Panelists were also drawn from the development partners including UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank Group and more while Mr. Segun Tekun of the International Labour Organization delivered the lead paper

Also in attendance were different people drawn from Civil Society Organizations, Pressure groups, the academic community and other interest groups.

“We are excited about this webinar and how far it will go to drive inclusion for the revised policy” said the Mrs. Olusola Idowu, the permanent secretary of the ministry of finance budget and national planning.

In his words, the Stakeholder Engagement Consultant, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi noted that the webinar is part of a series of activities to ensure everyone is carried along in the institution of the policy for the country.
