Lagos confirms Chrisland pupil, Whitney died of Electrocution

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice have confirmed that Chrisland School pupil, Whitney Adeniran who  died at the Agege Stadium during the school’s Inter House Sport games actually died of asphyxia and electrocution, confirming what her mother, Mrs Adeniran told the public.

In a statement released by the Ministry’s Director of Public Affairs, Mrs Grace Alo, the information was contained in the post mortem report received by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN.

The statement reads:

LAGOS RECEIVES POST MOTERM REPORT ON DEATH OF CHRISLAND PUPIL,WHITNEY ADENIRAN

The Lagos State Government have received the Post Mortem Report dated 1st of March, 2023, issued by the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, in respect of Adeniran Omodesola Whitney, who was until her demise, a student of Chrisland School, Opebi, Lagos.

The statement from the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo,SAN , states that the post mortem report revealed the cause of death to be Asphyxia and Electrocution.

The statement further adds that the Directorate of Public Prosecutions has been instructed to issue Legal Advice on the matter with immediate effect.

The Lagos State Government commiserates with the deceased family, while reassuring Lagosians that anybody found culpable would immediately be charged to court.
