The trial of Ufuoma Famous, a woman accused of murdering her husband, Famous Gideon, and another woman identified as Mrs Edoh, has commenced at the Delta State High Court, Ughelli Judicial Division.

She is also facing an attempted murder charge over the alleged attack on a third person, Felicia, who reportedly intervened during the incident.

The proceedings are being presided over by Justice Sunny Adolor.

The Delta State Ministry of Justice disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

According to the statement, the prosecution, led by Peter Daubry, a Deputy Director in the state Ministry of Justice, called two witnesses to testify in support of its case. One of the witnesses was the defendant’s son.

Famous is standing trial on a three-count charge. The first count accuses her of murdering her husband, Famous Gideon, while the second alleges that she killed Mrs Edoh.

The third count relates to the alleged attempted murder of Felicia, who reportedly tried to intervene during the incident.

The alleged offences took place in January 2026 at Ighrovie, Ughelli, Delta State.

During the hearing, the defendant’s son testified as one of the prosecution witnesses, providing evidence relating to the allegations against his mother.

Following the testimonies of the two witnesses, the court adjourned the case until November 5, 2026, for the continuation of the prosecution’s case.

The defendant, a mother of two and indigene of Isoko, was reportedly accused of committing the offences following allegations surrounding her husband’s extramarital relationship.

The charges remain allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
