Twelve persons were burnt to death on Saturday in a crash on the Ilorin-Ogbomoso expressway.
This is coming a few weeks after another fatal auto crash in which 10 persons were burnt to death on Ilorin Airport Road.
The multiple accidents occurred at about 0647hours, according to the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Jonathan Owoade said.
The accident involved a Toyota Hummer commercial passenger bus and a DAF trailer.
Eighteen persons, including six males, were involved in the fatal auto crash, while 12 persons were burnt beyond recognition, according to the Road Safety Sector Commander.
He said six persons, who were also burnt but survived in the accident, were rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH, for medical attention.
Jonathan further disclosed that no item was recovered from the scene of the accident, as the bus was completely destroyed by the fire before their operatives arrived.
He blamed the accident on route violation, speed violation and loss of control and advised motorists to religiously comply with traffic rules and regulations.
