Clergyman and social media personality, Woli Arole, has condemned individuals he accused of exploiting the death of gospel singer Toluwanisings to gain attention and engagement on social media.

In a video shared online, Arole described the late singer as a highly talented artiste, noting that his death had left friends, colleagues and members of the gospel music community devastated.

He expressed displeasure over what he described as the sudden interest shown by some individuals who, according to him, had neither promoted the singer’s music nor spoken about his work while he was alive but had now begun granting interviews and commenting on issues surrounding his death.

“It’s saddening that a lot of people are now beginning to use it as a means for social media attraction. You are mad,” he said.

Arole also appealed to individuals involved in discussions surrounding the singer’s burial to allow the necessary arrangements to proceed without fuelling further public controversy.

He urged the public to shift its attention from online disputes to celebrating Toluwanisings’ musical legacy and supporting his wife and children as they come to terms with their loss.

The clergyman maintained that the singer’s music would continue to live on, stressing the importance of respecting the privacy and dignity of his bereaved family during the difficult period.

He also offered prayers for the late singer’s wife, children, relatives, friends and colleagues in the gospel music industry.
