Volodymir Zylenski: From a TV Comedian to a War Commander

The support from his fellow Ukraine citizens has been massive. People rather than escaping to safety chose to stay with their President and fight the Russian aggression. President Zylenski also chose to stay and defend his country and her people rather than listen to the voices of other countries who offered him and his cabinet members a safe haven in the United States, or any other part of Europe. Whether he wins or loses this war, Zylenski has written his name in gold in the annals of world history. He will always be remembered as a President who joined his soldiers at the war front to save his country.

Zylenski, 44, a once popular TV comedian became President three years ago in 2019. Popularly elected by the Ukrainian people due to his dazzling TV shows that were electric, funny and appealing, Zylenski now leads a war, a far cry from his then TV talk shows.

Today, day four of the war with Russia, a major world power, militarily, Zylenski proves a hard nut to crack, contrary to Russia’s initial expectations of an easy take over. The US and other countries had provided safe sanctuary for Zylenski and his government, but he refused, holding on the war commanding forte.
Today’s casualties are uncountable. Many dead. Many displaced. Many fled to neighbouring countries.

The coming hours will determine whether President Zylenski will give up or overcome a superior military power head and, interestingly, his distant relative, President Vladimir Putin…
